Bulkley & Associates, Inc. is a small refrigerated carrier located in Sulphur Springs, TX, about 80 miles east of Dallas. We specialize in live eggs, fresh produce, dairy, and frozen fruits & vegetables. Our company has a full service brokerage firm, a full service maintenance shop, as well as our truckload transportation company. We are looking forward to fulfilling all of your transportation needs.
Bulkley & Associates, Inc. was founded in 1987 with the purchase of one 1987 Peterbilt. The owner-operator of the truck, Clint Bulkley, had been driving since he was 17 years old, but had dreams of owning his own company. He drove that truck for seven years, making contacts, and learning the ins and outs of the transportation industry. In 1994, he bought two more trucks and hired long-time friends, Gary Stuart and Kenneth Farrow, to drive them while he continued to drive his first truck. Next, he hired his niece, LaWana Hohenberger, to handle the growing amount of paperwork that was generated. A guest house rented from the neighbors across the street served as an office for the next five years. And the company grew.
Over the years, Clint has gained a reputation for excellent customer service, honesty, and fairness. In 1995, he decided to hang up his keys and devote all of his time to the expansion of the company. He bought more trucks and concentrated on providing exceptional service to the customers, and good positions for people who were looking for driving jobs with enough miles to support their families. Clint takes pride in providing his drivers with late model equipment. Fewer breakdowns mean more miles for the driver and a better on-time delivery rate for the customer.
On January 21, 1998, the company became incorporated. Officers include Clint Bulkley as President, his wife, Linda Bulkley as Vice President and LaWana Hohenberger as Corporate Secretary. And still the company grew.
In the years since, the corporation has acquired 52 trucks and 70 trailers. The company is located in a small office down the road from the original site. Many improvements have been made to the site. The company has a fully functioning service and repair shop, which incorporated as a separate company in January of 2007. Bulkley has also started a new leasing program that has a promising future. The company hopes to grow dramatically in the future, and meet all of our goals
